Comcast Forms Data Innovation and Insights Team

Comcast Spotlight, the advertising sales division of TV and telecoms firm Comcast Cable, has promoted Andrea Zapata to Vice President of Data Innovation and Insights, overseeing a newly formed Data Innovation and Insights team.

Andrea ZapataHeadquartered in New York with offices throughout the country, Comcast Spotlight has a presence in nearly 67 markets with more than 35 million owned and represented subscribers. Zapata (pictured) joined two years ago as VP Research & Insights, leading a team of approximately 70 media research professionals. She previously worked for video hosting service Vevo as VP of Research; subscription video on demand service Hulu as Ad Sales Research Lead; and sports channel ESPN, as Manager of Distribution and Audience Research and then Director of Sales Strategy and Planning.

In her new role, she is responsible for advanced analytics, measurement, effectiveness and in-market research for all lines of businesses.

Separately, Kelly Perone has been named VP of Product Strategy, overseeing the new Product Strategy department. Hank Oster, SVP and COO, comments: 'We believe that our work and innovation in recent months to move to a more solutions-based, data-driven approach to advertising positions us well for the future. That said, we are constantly looking at ways to stay ahead of the rapidly changing television ecosystem. By creating a focus on product strategy and a clear product roadmap with Kelly, and a focus on innovating with data with Andrea, we are poised to meet the growing needs of our clients'.
