In the US, cannabis industry analyst New Frontier Data has announced its second acquisition of the week - this time of lifestyle and engagement platform Civilized, which provides cannabis consumers, influencers and multinational brands with niche and mainstream content.
Yesterday, New Frontier announced it had agreed to buy discovery and profiling platform Zefyr, in a cash and stock transaction totalling more than $10m. Its acquisition of Canada and the US-based Civilized (this time for an undisclosed sum), will provide New Frontier with access to millions of cannabis consumers, influencers and the 'canna-curious', who Civilized provides with digital content, television and podcasts, and B2B and B2C events.
New Frontier founder and CEO Giadha Aguirre de Carcer (pictured) explains: 'Our plan is to merge sophisticated information platforms to offer detailed, accurate and timely predictive analytics and actionable intelligence to companies looking to connect with today's cannabis consumer. Civilized's intelligent and thoughtful relationship with millions of cannabis consumers provides brands with a responsible and compliant way to engage, inform and influence buying behavior in this unique global marketplace'.
