In New York, Nielsen Global Connect has hired IBM exec Jacqueline Woods as Chief Marketing Officer, starting on December 1st.
The company was created earlier this month when Nielsen announced plans to spin off its Global Connect business (similar, but not identical to the former 'Buy' segment), creating two independent publicly traded companies, the other being Nielsen Global Media. Woods (pictured) joins after nearly a decade at IBM, where she served as CMO for the IBM Partner Ecosystem. Prior to this, she served as CMO of IBM Global Financing, leading marketing and communications, strategy and offerings development for IBM's finance division. Earlier, she worked for General Electric as Chief of GTM Segmentation and Customer Experience; and for Ameritch as GM & Director, Product Management.
In her new role, Woods will lead all aspects of global marketing, supporting the company's transformation into an independent, publicly traded company. As CMO, she will join the company's executive leadership team and will report to Chief Commercial Officer Pat Dodd, who comments: 'Jacqueline is a marketing powerhouse in the technology sector whose background and experience will help our company accelerate our tech transformation. We are inspired by her proven successes, and we are looking forward to modernizing our marketing approach under Jacqueline's guidance'.
