Funds for Online Experience Specialist Decibel

London-based Decibel, which provides real-time intelligence allowing businesses to measure and improve online customer experiences, has raised $17m in a Series B investment round. Funds will be used to further develop its technology and for expansion across Europe and North America.

The round, which brings the company's total raised to date to $26m, was led by European venture capital firm Draper Esprit, with participation from existing Series A investors Eight Road Ventures and John Simon's Ventureforgood fund.

The firm's Digital Experience platform captures experience data and analyses it with the help of machine learning to identify problem areas on web sites and apps for action in near real-time. The offer includes a 'universal metric' for automatic measurement of experiences online, the Digital Experience Score (DXS). Decibel has grown steadily since launch in 2014, and employs 130 people across six cities, including Boston, San Francisco and Denver in the US, plus Madrid and Berlin.
