In the US, media intelligence and communications specialist Cision has been acquired by an affiliate of global investment firm Platinum Equity, in an all-cash transaction valued at approximately $2.7bn.
Cision's software allows users to identify key influencers, develop and distribute content, and measure campaign impact. Last year, the company acquired social media insights and management company Falcon.io; PR analytics provider TrendKite, and Unmetric, which delivers insights from social media benchmarking, audience engagement and content performance.
Now privately held, Cision has more than 4,800 employees at its offices in 24 countries across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC. CEO Kevin Akeroyd (pictured) comments: 'As a private company, Cision is well positioned to meet both our financial and business goals.
