In the US, healthcare data analyst MetiStream has raised an undisclosed amount of funding, for use in expanding and accelerating sales, marketing and product development.Based in the Washington DC area, MetiStream uses big data, natural language processing and machine learning to uncover insights in unstructured healthcare data. This data is used to analyze patient and population details such as diagnosis, treatment, history and patient behavior. The company says it mission is to help organizations access and gain value from all of their data assets, to develop a deeper understanding of the patient population, improve quality and proactively impact patient outcomes.
New funding comes from The Center for Innovative Technology's CIT GAP Funds. Chiny Driscoll (pictured), CEO of MetiStream, comments: 'Our Ember NLP and AI platform is able to contextualize and curate the clinical notes information for faster, deeper and more accurate analytics that can be used by practitioners, nurses, researchers and analysts.
