In the US, international data collection business Schlesinger Group has acquired qualitative technology-led research services provider 20|20 Research for an undisclosed sum. Jim Bryson, founder and former Chair at 20|20, is retiring from the business.
20|20 is headquartered in Nashville and also has offices in Denver and Chicago and facilities in Nashville, Charlotte and Miami. The firm combines proprietary technology, panels and participant services to offer solutions for qualitative research including focus group facilities, project management and full service. In December, it acquired Chicago-based mobile qual provider Over the Shoulder, which is known for proprietary technology for mobile ethnography and journal-keeping, allowing researchers in-depth insights into their target consumers' daily lives.
Schlesinger says the deal will add proprietary online qualitative tools to its own capabilities, while increasing its portfolio of qualitative research markets to twenty across the US and eight in Europe. 20|20 CEO Isaac Rogers (pictured left) remains with the business and takes the new position of Chief Innovation Officer for Schlesinger Group.
CEO Steve Schlesinger (pictured right) says Bryson had built a 'legacy business' based on qualitative innovation, research talent, active panels, and a client-focused approach to delivering quality. Rogers added: 'We look forward to bringing our technology-focused thinking to the broad platform that Schlesinger has created over the past fifty-plus years. Our clients will benefit from Schlesinger and Market Cube's global reach, vast panels, and data science capabilities for online quantitative'.
