In the US, former Nielsen CEO Mitch Barns has joined the Board of consumer brand agency The Stable.
The company offers full-service retail strategy, representation, channel management, social and digital marketing, creative and product development services, on behalf of consumer brands. In April it merged with retail agency Kreative Sales & Marketing, and the combined firm now employs more than 100 people.
Barns (pictured) joins the Board of Directors with experience including more than twenty years at Nielsen, the last five as CEO, during which time it acquired 26 businesses. Earlier he held leadership roles across all major parts of the business, including President, Global Client Service; President of the US Media arm; President of Greater China; and President of the BASES analytic consulting division. He began his career at Procter & Gamble, where he spent twelve years in marketing research and brand management positions. Barns currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Global Leadership Network, and operates Second Half Advisors, a firm he founded last year to advise and support businesses and non-profits.
He comments: 'I'm incredibly excited to be working with the talented team at The Stable and Kreative. Their unique approach to leveraging various data sources to drive commerce is impressive. I look forward to collaborating with them to share my knowledge and experience as they continue to build out an industry leading offering for their brand partners'.
