In San Francisco, collaborative analytics platform Mode Analytics has raised $33m in a Series D round of funding, for use in further developing its services in business intelligence, data science and machine learning.Mode's platform features dashboards and interactive visualization; and predictive, customised and prescriptive analytics. In addition, the platform supports the analytics community with free learning resources such as SQL School, open source SQL queries, and free tools for anyone analyzing public data.
Derek Steer (pictured), co-founder and CEO, comments: 'Even at companies with huge investments in self-serve BI, people constantly ask the data team follow-up questions. Making the data team more effective, and making the collaboration between the two groups work flawlessly, is the unmet need that Mode has filled. In doing so, we have laid the foundation for the future corporate knowledge base'.
The firm's new funding round has been led by H.I.G. Growth Partners, along with Valor Equity Partners, Foundation Capital, REV Venture Partners and Switch Ventures, bringing the total raised to date to $83m. Scott Hilleboe, MD, H.I.G. Growth Partners, says that Mode's innovations in data analytics position it to take the lead in the decision science marketplace.
