YouGov has acquired Turkish online-focused MR firm Wizsight for an undisclosed sum. The company will be renamed YouGov Turkey.
Founded in 2017 by former Nielsen/Ipsos exec N.Özge Akçizmeci Üstün (pictured), Istanbul-based Wizsight offers a range of services to help both regional and multinational brands across multiple verticals understand their markets. Studies cover brand positioning and awareness; concept, product, and packaging testing; usage and attitude studies; client satisfaction studies; and store and enterprise analysis. The company also provides insights evaluation for PR and ad agencies.
As part of the deal, Akçizmeci Üstün will take on the role of Commercial and General Manager Turkey. YouGov says it has been strengthening its proprietary panel of members in Turkey on the back of client demand, and that the addition of Wizsight will allow it to offer a greater array of research products and services to clients, while further increasing panel activity in Turkey.
Stephan Shakespeare, CEO and co-founder of YouGov, adds: 'With its progressive attitude to online research and its impressive roster of blue-chip clients, Wizsight is the perfect fit for us. Turkey is a key growth market for YouGov and many of its clients and by setting roots there, through this acquisition, we can better serve those clients both within Turkey and the wider region'.
