Nielsen has appointed Jamie Moldafsky, formerly CMO at Wells Fargo Bank, as Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, effective immediately.
Moldafsky spent nine years at Wells Fargo, responsible for global brand strategy and management, product marketing, media, research and analytics, meetings, events, sponsorships and reputation. Earlier in her career she held senior marketing, communications and general management roles at American Express and Charles Schwab, and she was GM of the KitchenAid brand at Whirlpool Corp.
Nielsen announced a year ago it would be splitting its business into Media and Connect units, and at the start of November said it has found a buyer - private equity investor Advent International - for the Connect consumer data unit, which will be rebranded as NielsenIQ early in 2021. The remaining business, Nielsen Global Media, is overhauling its cross-media measurement capabilities 'to account for fundamental shifts in audience behavior', and the firm says Moldafsky will be 'instrumental in reshaping Nielsen's brand and product presence at a critical time'.
CEO David Kenny says of the appointment: 'We're thrilled to welcome Jamie to Nielsen. She is a seasoned marketing and communications professional with experience in a range of industries, and invaluable expertise in marketing and communications. Jamie's ability to apply best in class marketing solutions, engage in thought leadership and deploy successful strategies for reputation management will help us accelerate our partnerships with the industry and turbocharge the next era of Nielsen's business'.
