Retail data firm The NPD Group has appointed former Kantar exec Edurne Uranga as Head of Foodservice Spain.NPD offers its services in nineteen countries worldwide, with operations spanning the Americas, Europe, and AsiaPac. The firm's CREST (Consumer Reports on Eating Share Trends) service offers insight on consumer purchases of commercially prepared meals; and through its SalesTrack Weekly offer, Spanish operators can analyse restaurant same-store sales by segment and category, based on actual sales obtained from participating chain restaurant operators.
Uranga (pictured) takes over the team with more than eighteen years' MR experience across the food and beverage industry, the past nearly eight spent at Kantar, where she latterly served as Consumer Insight Director of shopper behaviour specialist Kantar Worldpanel. Prior to this, she spent more than a decade at Nielsen, managing and developing accounts.
In her new role, Uranga reports to Maria Vanifatova, Head of Foodservice Europe, who comments: 'Edurne has extensive experience in providing analysis and insights to the foodservice market. We are delighted to have someone of her calibre and industry knowledge lead the team in Spain.'
