Location data provider Geoscape Australia has appointed former Axciom / LiveRamp MD Dean Capobianco as Chief Executive Officer. He takes over from Dan Paull, who left in February after more than 22 years with the business.
Geoscape Australia, which is backed by the government of Australia, provides actionable business intelligence through data, technology and analytic services. Capobianco (pictured) joins after serving as MD, International Growth APAC at identity resolution platform LiveRamp (Singapore), which was acquired by enterprise data and analytics company Axciom in 2014. He had previously worked at Axciom as MD, APAR Emerging Markets, and as MD, Australia & New Zealand. Earlier, he held senior roles at China Search International, ninemsn and Yahoo!
In his new role, Capobianco is charged with driving company growth, through the delivery of new partnerships, business models and product innovation. His predecessor Paull now works for location data platform HERE Technologies as Head of Government & Infrastructure, Oceania.
In a statement, Geoscape Australia said: 'Dean's capabilities and leadership style are a very close match to what we were seeking in our new CEO. He's immensely positive and energetic, with a real knack for bringing out the best in people. We know he'll have a big impact on our business'.
