In the US, competitive intelligence provider Apptopia has raised $20m in a new financing round, which it plans to invest in 'ethically sourced' data outside of mobile apps, to provide clients with a 360-degree view of consumer engagement with their competition.
Apptopia enables brands to analyze details about their competitors across mobile apps and connected devices, providing visibility into consumer behavior across apps on any device in the household. In tandem with the funding, Apptopia co-founder and CEO Eliran Sapir is moving to the role of Chairman of the Board, and co-founder and COO Jonathan Kay will take his place as CEO. Kay says that the funding provides a unique opportunity for the company to become the data intelligence platform 'with the largest breadth and visibility across all connected devices'.
New funding has been led by ABS Capital Partners with participation from existing investors, including Blossom Street Ventures. Sapir comments: 'The additional capital will enable us to accelerate our current momentum, empowering businesses across the world with the data they need to outsmart their competition in today's digital-first economy'.
