In the US, R&D and standard-setting consortium the IAB Tech Lab has appointed Anthony Katsur as Chief Executive Officer, beginning August 2nd. He takes over from Dennis Buchheim, who has moved to Facebook as VP, Advertising Ecosystem.
A part of trade association the IAB (Interactive Advertising Bureau), the non-profit Lab is tasked with producing and helping companies implement global technical standards and solutions for the digital media and ad industries. Comprised of more than 700 member organizations, IAB Tech Lab focuses on solutions for brand safety and ad fraud; identity, data, and consumer privacy; ad experience and measurement; and programmatic effectiveness.
Katsur (pictured) will join from local TV and media company Nexstar, where he served as SVP, Digital Strategy, Corporate Development and Operations, before which he was President of ad technology developer Sonobi. Earlier he held technology and business leadership roles at Rubicon Project, MediaMath and Maxifier, where he served as CEO; and he worked at DoubleClick after its acquisition of NetGravity.
Buchheim led the organization from 2017 until June this year. David Cohen, CEO, IAB, comments: 'Anthony has made outstanding contributions over the past years as a contributor to IAB and IAB Tech Lab focused on driving excellence in video and mobile. He brings exactly the right expertise to lead the industry in developing the specifications and standards required to maintain a vibrant and open Internet'.
