London-based audience and gamer insights firm GWI is opening its first APAC office in Singapore in October, staffed by a combination of relocated European team members and locally sourced talent.GWI (GlobalWebIndex) helps brands, media organizations and agencies to 'get closer to their audiences' by means of a subscription-based platform, analytics tools and a flagship survey it says represents over two billion people globally. The firm's range of products includes GWI USA, which provides a deep dive into the habits, behavior and attitudes of 240 million Internet users in the US; GWI Gaming, tracking the actions and attitudes of gamers across fifteen markets; and GWI Work, giving a view of the lives of professionals in ten markets.
As well as its London headquarters, the firm has offices in New York, Prague and Athens, with APAC currently representing around 20% of the firm's accounts, worth £1.276bn. CEO and founder Tom Smith (pictured) comments: 'We know businesses in the APAC region are in need of fresh data to help them make critical decisions, and by setting up an office in the region we can enable them to focus on what matters, find the best ideas and then make them happen. By putting a team in Singapore, we will be able to overcome any language, cultural, network and time zone challenges whilst accelerating APAC growth'.
