In the US, analytics platform DataChat has raised $25m in a Series A round of funding, to invest in expanding its product and customer growth strategies.Formed as a spinout from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, DataChat has developed a Conversational Intelligence (CI) platform to help business users obtain insights from their data by simply 'chatting' with the platform. Users can carry out a broad range of functions - including exploratory and predictive analytics, structured querying, visualization and data wrangling - with no coding experience required.
New funding was led by Redline Capital and Anthos Capiral, with participation from existing investors Celesta Capital and Nepenthe Capital, adding to last year's $4m seed round. DataChat CEO and co-founder Jignesh Patel (pictured) comments: 'The seed round allowed us to bring the initial product vision to market and to release it to a limited set of customers. The reception has been a huge success, and the Series A round will allow us to accelerate execution of both our product roadmap and our customer growth strategy'.
