In New York, location data firm Unacast has raised $16m in a new round of funding, which it will use to expand its offering for international clients outside the US, and to build a data buying platform.Unacast describes itself as a 'human mobility data company', committed to understanding how people move around on the planet. Its products are used by data-driven commercial real estate professionals, retailers, researchers, analysts and data scientists, to analyze foot traffic from millions of stores and venues, understand mobility patterns on a neighborhood level, and track migration patterns across the country.
New funding was led by Camber Creek, with participation from existing investors White Star Capital and Investinor. Thomas Walle (pictured), co-founder, and CEO of Unacast, comments: 'Camber Creek provided value even before they invested. They helped us at every stage of our growth, identifying opportunities and recruiting key co-investors. We are now scaling quickly to meet the demand for our solutions in global marketplaces'.
