Milieu Funds to Drive Expansion

Southeast Asian consumer research and analytics firm Milieu Insight has raised $5m in funding, for use in development of new products and geographical expansion.

Two million community members are registered on the Milieu survey app, allowing clients to connect directly with their target audience through an end-to-end, real-time consumer research platform. A proprietary customer dashboard, Milieu Canvas, provides real-time access to profiling data (Milieu Portraits) and the ability to launch fast turnaround surveys (Milieu Studies).

The latest funding was led by MassMutual Ventures (MMV) Southeast Asia, with participation from OSK Ventures International Berhad, Genesis Alternative Ventures, and several private investors. The company secured $2.4m in a pre-A round of funding two years ago, and has since expanded from its Singapore base to also cover Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. The latest round will help the firm - which has quadrupled its enterprise customer base to 180 in the last 21 months - to move beyond Southeast Asia. Recent new product launches include an automated brand tracking solution; and Milieu Activate, a programmatic solution for enhanced targeting of mobile ads.
