WPP Unites Twelve Agencies at New Prague Campus

Marcoms giant WPP has opened a campus in the Czech capital Prague, where twelve of the group's agencies and 1,000 marketing, advertising, media, PR, data and research professional are now housed.

The new campus is situated in a former palace on Bubenská Street, which was the headquarters of Electric Enterprises until the 1950s and has now been reconstructed by architects and preservationists. The building was later rented out to underground art groups, and hosted music club Neone until 2017. Its renovation was carried out in cooperation with conservationists, who have preserved the original architecture and features, and during the next year, the building will be open to the general public on public open days.

WPP is the first and largest tenant, occupying 90% of the leased building (approximately 16,000 m2), including four terraces with an area of 3,000 m2, equivalent to two football pitches. In the atrium, directly above the main reception area, hangs an art installation by the Czech company Preciosa Lighting, comprising 797 hand-blown glass spheres that WPP says symbolises the interconnectedness and cooperation of the WPP agencies.

The Prague Campus joins those recently opened in New York, Mumbai, Amsterdam, Madrid and Milan, which launched this September. Commenting on the launch in Prague, David Lhota, WPP Country Manager for Czech Republic, said: 'The Electricity Enterprises building with its strong story was the obvious choice. It means much more to us than just a headquarters for our agencies. We are proud to have been involved in the rescue and revitalisation of this world-renowned listed building'.
