CleverTap Names Global CEO in Preparation for IPO

AI-powered customer lifecycle and user retention platform CleverTap has appointed former Freshworks CRO Sidharth Malik as Global Chief Executive Officer, as it readies for an IPO.

CleverTap, which has offices in San Francisco, Seattle, London, Singapore and Mumbai, offers a suite allowing brands to convert, engage, retain and grow their mobile user base, aided by machine learning and behavioral analytics. In 2019, the firm completed a $35m Series C funding round, which it has been using to grow a new US-based engineering hub, add enhanced predictive capabilities, and drive a global market expansion strategy.

Malik (pictured) was previously the Chief Revenue Officer at customer experience solutions provider Freshworks, where he helped scale the business from a single product to a multi-product platform with a global footprint, culminating in an IPO this year. Prior to this, he was MD and VP of content delivery network Akamai Technologies; and he held senior roles at Salesforce, Microsoft and IBM.
