In the UK, full service social research and behavioural insights specialist M.E.L Research has appointed Kate Owen as Research Director and Claire Bennett as Associate Director in its Qualitative team.
M.E.L measures citizen views and opinions, and evaluates them to understand how well a client, project or service is performing. The firm offers a full range of research methods, quant and qual, and donates 5% of its net profits to charity. A sister company, M.E.L Waste Insights, focuses on analysis and advice around municipal waste and resources.
Owen joins after a stint freelancing, having previously worked for consumer specialist 2CV, where as Group Research Director she was a member of the senior management team. She previously worked for alcohol awareness charity Drinkaware as Research and Planning Manager, and ad agency AMV.BBDO as Research Director, having begun her MR career at Hall & Partners.
Bennett most recently worked for the Ministry of Justice, supporting evaluation of probation reform. Before this, she was Head of Projects (Bespoke Research) at nfpSynergy. Earlier, she worked for the National Centre for Social Research (NatCen) as Senior Researcher, Crime & Justice.
