In the US, online video platform Brightcove has acquired audience insights company Wicket Labs, which provides users with content and subscriber analytics. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Seattle, WA-based Wicket Labs helps media and entertainment companies reach their target audiences: its Wicket Scorecard integrates customers' OTT video service data sources and subscription video insights, to help profile customers and provide industry benchmarks.
Brightcove will acquire the Wicket Labs video intelligence technology, brand, marketing assets, and customer relationships globally, and Wicket Labs' co-founders - Marty Roberts, Eric Knutson and Ian Blaine - and all of its employees will join the Brightcove Product and Engineering division.
Brightcove CPO Namita Dhallan says the acquisition will help the company expand its analytics offering with audience insights. Roberts adds: 'We are excited to be joining Brightcove and integrating our audience insights with Brightcove's robust analytics and leading online video platform'.
