Century City, CA-based research firm Screen Engine/ASI (SE/ASI) has hired former LRW Group exec Syed Hasan for the newly created position of Chief Technology Officer.
Founded in 2010 by former OTX exec Kevin Goetz, SE/ASI serves major movie studios, production companies, TV broadcasters, streaming services and video game companies. Its entertainment sector products and services have included in-theatre exit polling service PostTrak; GET, a global quarterly study of consumer behavior and attitudes; PostVod, delivering weekly viewer data on original movies going to VOD; virtual screening research platform VirtuWorks; and audience targeting solution Audience Engine. Additionally, in the last few years, the company has acquired MR agency Tapestry Research, media research consultancy The Diffusion Group (TDG) and focus-group testing specialist ticktBox.
Hasan (pictured) joins after serving as EVP of Software Development and Customer Experience Manager at LRW Group (now known as Material), and of its MR subsidiary Lieberman Research Worldwide. Earlier, after a decade in international business consulting, Hasan founded and led Canada-based CEM provider ResponseTek Networks, which was acquired by ESW Capital in 2018.
In his new role, Hasan is responsible for setting and driving the technology direction of the company. Goetz comments: 'In the last few years, we have developed and introduced new tech-enabled research products to better serve our clients and increase the efficiency of our processes. It is now the perfect time to establish a leadership position to spearhead our vision and strategy and Syed is the ideal candidate to lead this effort'.
