Mobile data and analytics company App Annie has changed its name to data.ai, claiming that it is now the first company to combine consumer and market data to fuel digital insights, powered by artificial intelligence.
Founded in 2010, the San Francisco-based company has a user base of more than a million app developers, and tracks the evolving app ecosystem - including downloads, revenue, retention and usage - via a product called Store Intelligence. It also offers in-depth analysis of app user demographics, related apps and sentiment data via the Audience Intelligence service; and it operates a specialist Research & Analytics division. In addition, its suite of tools called Ascend, combines app market data with advertising analytics.
Theodore Krantz (pictured), CEO of data.ai, comments: 'Today we are the mobile standard which is the tip of the spear and where the market is going. However, we see a blue ocean opportunity to assemble a broader variety of digital datasets and activate artificial intelligence so that enterprises can compete at a higher level. We are proud to be the first data company to offer these unique data science capabilities.'
