In the UK, Interpublic-owned marketing and advertising group McCann has promoted former Kantar exec Gideon Wilkins to the role of Group Head of Research.
Wilkins (pictured) joined in 2019 as Head of Research in Birmingham, after more than seven years at Kantar Millward Brown in Warwick, where he latterly served as Global Brand Guidance Director, working with one of the group's biggest clients. Before this, he held director-level roles at consumer specialist Insight Counts, Capgemini, and baby products company Wilkinet.
In his new role, Wilkins will lead McCann's Research division across its five offices, with a focus on delivering insights for discovering, planning, creating and tracking brand activity for the agency's clients. Ringo Moss, Chief Strategy Officer at McCann Central, comments: 'Over the last three years the research team has been transformed and its impact on clients and the business has been significant. In a market environment seeing a long-term decline in market research spend, we've seen real growth as clients look for even greater depth of insight.
