In the US, employee experience platform Whistle has raised $3.2m in a seed round of funding, which it will use to accelerate the adoption of its technology, grow its portfolio of products and expand its engineering and operating teams.
Whistle integrates learning technology with AI and business intelligence, to help companies quantify their investment in people programs, and thereby improve retention, productivity and profitability. Last year, the company launched the beta version of its first two products - Microlearning and Whistle Insights. Microlearning helps companies deliver a curated employee experience, such as onboarding and first-time manager training, which the firm says are the two biggest factors impacting employee retention; while Whistle Insights connects learning effectiveness to business outcomes like productivity, safety and employee retention.
Seed funding was led by Dundee Venture Capital, with participation from M25. Drew Carter (pictured), CEO and co-founder of Whistle, comments: 'It is humbling to have the support and validation from two experienced venture capital teams and a small group of private investors who believe in our team and vision this early in our journey. Our team has worked incredibly hard to get Whistle off the ground. Building an inclusive, innovative, and growing company with this group of people is hugely rewarding'.
