Kantar Public, the global group's evidence and advisory business for governments and the public sector, has appointed current WPP exec Kathryn Cooper in the new role of Global Head of Behavioural and Communications Advisory.
Cooper works currently as Executive Director of WPP's Government and Public Sector Practice and leads WPP's growth in government work in the US market. She brings 25 years of experience in international marketing and agency work, including all aspects of citizen communications, social marketing and behaviour change. She worked in integrated marketing roles in financial services, FMCG and retail before joining the WPP Government and Public Sector Practice in 2015 as founding Executive Director in ANZ; then in 2019 relocated to the US and refined WPP's approach to public sector business development in the region.
In her new, US-based role, Cooper joins the group's global Board and will lead an international team of established communications and behavioural specialists, partnering Kantar Public's clients in governments and multilaterals worldwide to use integrated communications and behavioral approaches to address critical public policy issues. She reports to Kantar Public CEO Dr Michelle Harrison, the original leader of the WPP unit Cooper is joining from, who comments: 'Kantar Public is proud and humbled to partner so many government and multilateral clients on communications, social marketing and behaviour change issues that are of such importance to society and us all, as citizens. We have a wonderful international team of experts who work to continuously evolve our approaches to deepen their effectiveness. Kathryn is an outstanding expert, trusted advisor, executive and leader and I am so pleased that she will be leading this area of our business. On a personal basis, I am also delighted to be working with her again'.
