Long-time Entertainment Industry Exec Joins Comscore

In the US, Comscore has appointed entertainment industry exec Michael Viane as Head of Global Revenue for its Movies division. He takes up his new role on April 18th.

Viane (pictured) will join with more than 25 years of entertainment industry experience, after most recently serving as Co-President of Theatrical Distribution at STX Entertainment, where he led theatrical distribution for STX releases. Before this, he held senior commercial leadership roles at Vision Media, Bleecker Street Media and Regal Entertainment Group. In addition, Viane spent two decades at Warner Brothers, latterly in a five-year stint as SVP for the Western Division.

At Comscore, Viane will be responsible for overseeing all Movies division products, including: Box Office Essentials, International Box Office Essentials, Swift, PostTrak, FORECAST, Insights and all Hollywood Software products. Additionally, he will work closely with Comscore's international team, to expand local products and identify synergies in the global theatrical market.

He will report to Global MD Arturo Guillén, who comments: 'Mike brings vast experience in both distribution and exhibition, holding a wide view of movie industry status and potential. Amid a tipping point for the movie industry, Mike's vision will help us continue to identify industry needs and boost our value proposition in market.
