In Australia, Publicis Media Exchange (PMX), the marcoms group's investment arm, has hired Rowena Newman in the new role of Head of Media Intelligence, overseeing a team of auditors and research analysts.
Newman (pictured) joins with twenty years' experience. She was previously Head of Marketing at commercial television industry body ThinkTV Australia, then took the same title at the Premium Content Alliance, which promotes the efficacy of premium content through three arms: ThinkTV, ThinkPremiumDigital and ThinkNewsBrands. Earlier in her career, she spent more than eleven years at Reckitt Benckiser, latterly as Head of Media ANZ, having earlier held brand management roles at Boots Healthcare, GSK and Unilever.
In her new role, Newman is tasked with leading the development and implementation of projects to drive the PMX investment product across Australia and New Zealand. She reports to MD Anthony Ellis, who comments: 'Rowena's background makes her the perfect person to lead the PMX Media Consultancy division that consists of qualified media auditors and media research analysts. Over the past two years, the PMX auditing team has built a media intelligence platform that connects strategic decision-making and the commercial impact of those decisions; empowering Publicis Groupe's agencies to make informed planning and buying decisions, with a clear focus on what matters'.
