Wavemaker Names Mumford Adelaide MD

WPP's consumer data specialist Wavemaker has promoted Phil Mumford to the role of Managing Director of its Adelaide office, replacing Matt Hofmeyer who is now MD in Hong Kong.

Wavemaker, which was set up in 2016 by WPP media agency MEC, supports clients' consumer decision-making and experience activity with media, content and technology. Mumford (pictured) joined more than six years ago as Client Director, before being promoted to General Manager in 2018. Prior to this he worked at Channel Nine as Sales Director in Adelaide, and Ikon Communications as a Communications Trader. Hofmeyer has been with the business for more than sixteen years, before which he was Group General Executive of WPP AUNZ's Adelaide Campus, and he held account positions at TMP Worldwide and Starcom.

In his new role, Mumford will lead the agency and be part of Wavemaker's national leadership team. Commenting on the promotion, Wavemaker Australia and New Zealand CEO Peter Vogel said: 'Phil has played a critical role in the success of our South Australian clients and the development of our people. His promotion is well deserved recognition of his immense contribution.
