In the UK, product consumer research agency Sensory Dimensions has been acquired by Eurofins-owned SAM Sensory and Consumer Research. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
Reading, Berkshire-based Sensory Dimensions works with clients to develop and improve their food, beverage, pharmaceutical, personal and household products, using a variety of approaches to address NPD, marketing and QA questions. The business now becomes part of SAM, which has sixteen facilities in France, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, Morocco, China and the USA.
Parent company Eurofins Scientific specializes in food, environment, pharmaceutical and cosmetic product testing and in discovery pharmacology, forensics, advanced material sciences and agroscience contract research services, through more than 61,000 employees across 940 laboratories in 59 countries. Following the deal, Sensory Dimensions will be known as SAM-Sensory Dimensions, with its current leader Tracey Sanderson (pictured) remaining with the business as MD.
In a statement, the firms said: 'Both companies have enjoyed a positive working relationship for many years, and the new partnership will allow them to offer services on a larger global scale and provide increased market coverage to its clients. SAM-Sensory Dimensions will benefit from access to experts and research solutions across SAM and the wider Eurofins network'.
