GfK has appointed former Hawkeye exec Mike Chung as West Coast Lead for its AutoMobility study, based in the Los Angeles area.
GfK AutoMobility delivers auto intenders brand and attitude insights research in the US, helping clients find out how consumers perceive brands, how those brands compare to the competition, and why consumers feel this way. Chung (pictured) joins after serving as SVP of Brand and Experience Strategy at Publicis-owned Hawkeye, which combines user insights, design and storytelling to deliver brand strategy and consumer experiences. Earlier he held senior brand digital strategy roles at Innocean, Team One, Cox Automotive, Accenture and Edmunds.
In his new position as Vice President, AutoMobility and West Coast Account Management, Chung will work closely with the LA-based team to help expand and enhance GfK's presence in the region among OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) and others in the auto industry. He will also connect with brands from sectors including technology and financial services on the West Coast.
Tom Neri, Commercial Director for Tech and Durables in the North America region, comments: 'We are thrilled to add a seasoned strategist like Mike to the Commercial team - and boost our West Coast presence in the process. Mike's rich experience in automotive is a huge plus for our AutoMobility business; but he will also be a major asset in our other commercial industries'.
