In the US, data analytics and customer intelligence specialist J.D. Power has launched a modular on-demand system called 'Modern Retailing as a Service' (MRaaS), to help the automotive industry adapt to changing consumer preferences and trends in vehicle shopping and purchasing behavior.
Thoma Bravo-owned J.D. Power, which was founded in 1968, generates and gathers consumer insights, with satisfaction measurements based on responses from millions of consumers annually. Earlier this year, the company acquired We Predict, a UK-based provider of global automobile service and warranty analytics.
Its new MRaaS solution offers software, data and predictive analytics in a modular, on-demand model, enabling the auto industry to customize and scale their service offerings based on their specific needs. MRaaS brings together all J.D. Power's solutions with an on-demand pricing model to offer clients purchase an end-to-end solution, or selected modules that fit their specific needs. Assets available include VIN (vehicle identification number) descriptions, inventory data, valuation data, vehicle images, digital retailing services, and car ratings data.
The service is led by Phillip Battista (pictured), President of Dealership Technologies and recently appointed Head of Modern Retailing. He is the founder of Superior Integrated Solutions/Darwin Automotive, an F&I (finance and insurance) and digital retailing services provider, which was acquired by J.D. Power in 2021. Commenting on the launch, Battista said: 'We are uniquely positioned with market leading solutions and deep industry experience to help power the automotive industry in its transition to modernized retailing.'
