In the US, former Facebook / Meta data director Kamal Shaik has joined real estate sector social media app REAL Messenger as Chief Data Officer (CDO).
Launched earlier this year, REAL uses a chat function to connect buyers, sellers and agents within a single platform, through which buyers can also browse the latest home listings globally. The firm is currently pushing for increased adoption by developers and users in Los Angeles, New York and Texas, and will then focus on international markets.

Most recently he was Director of Data Products and Programs at Meta, responsible for integrating data science, AI/ML and data analytics to develop new products to support AdTech, small business owners, and supply chain and operations departments.
Commenting on the appointment, CEO and co-founder Thomas Ma said: 'Kamal's skills and expertise in AI, ML and data science, together with his fifteen years of leadership experience in tech, is an incredible match for the REAL team. Kamal is exactly who we needed to help bring strategic changes and lead our team to develop further and strengthen our products and services. He is the right leader for REAL, and we believe he will guide us to the next chapter of growth and success'.
