In the US, analytics and intelligence platform Babel Street has acquired AI-powered multilingual text analytics platform Rosette for an undisclosed sum.Rosette applies machine learning and 'neural nets' to help companies identify and understand relationships between people, locations, organizations and events in multilingual text. Its software can analyse text in more than 30 languages; and conduct fuzzy name, organization, location, date and address matching. The company trains machine learning models on tweets and reviews, to detect strong positive and negative sentiment.
Babel Street says the acquisition positions it as a highly differentiated category leader in threat intelligence, risk mitigation and identity markets. Following the close of the transaction, the company will continue to market Rosette as a standalone offering, while incorporating the latter's technologies into its own solutions.
CEO Michael Southworth (pictured) comments: 'Babel Street's deep expertise in cross-lingual search across massive amounts of data, coupled with Rosette's ability to identify, categorize, extract, index and analyze all aspects of multi-language text, will help improve safety and security for our customers. We're thrilled to welcome Rosette's deep bench of talent to the Babel Street team'.
