In the US, computer graphics marketing and management consulting firm Jon Peddie Research (JPR) has acquired Babel TechReviews, a benchmarking site for performance analysis, XR reviews, and insights. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
Founded in 2014 by Mark Poppin (pictured), Babel TechReviews provides assessments of graphics boards, XR headsets and games, trends, and opportunities. Specifically, the firm focuses on the XR (extended reality which includes augmented reality and virtual reality) used in gaming and computing.
JPR, which provides consulting, research, and other specialized services to tech companies in various fields, says the acquisition significantly expands its own global analysis, news and reporting capacity, and its technology portfolio. Through this deal, JPR can now offer a perspective on what people can do with computers, XR, mobile devices, and more. Jon Peddie, President of JPR, comments: 'The acquisition of Babel TechReviews gives JPR a natural extension of its testing and benchmark coverage and reach, and extends it into the XR realm, allowing us to chase pixels from conception to delivery.'
This takeover follows last month's news that JPR has acquired Display Daily, a media outlet for data, analysis, news and insights for display and component companies across Europe.
