Alchemer Buys Mobile Feedback Specialist Apptentive

Alchemer, the experience management and enterprise feedback tech company once known as SurveyGizmo, has announced the acquisition of mobile CX specialist Apptentive.

Based in Boulder, Colorado and majority-owned since May last year by GfK investor KKR, Alchemer changed its name from SurveyGizmo in 2020, leaving behind its 'fun and whimsical' past to focus on its increasing use for 'mission-critical insights and business operations'. The firm provides MR and CX professionals with survey and customer feedback management software, pitching itself at those who have 'outgrown SurveyMonkey' but 'Don't want the expense and headaches of Qualtrics'.

The firms say the acquisition of Apptentive, whose CX platform allows corporate users to measure shifts in customer emotion and gather actionable feedback across the mobile customer journey, will give Alchemer clients more in-depth methods of collecting feedback from those customers, and Apptentive clients 'access to survey and workflow functionality across communication channels and within platforms such as Salesforce, Microsoft Teams and Slack'. A combined set of solutions is available to customer immediately, with new integrated solutions set for launch soon.

Alchemer CEO David Roberts says the buy 'creates an incredible opportunity for our customers to better reach their customers and employees where they are engaged - in mobile apps'. He continues: 'This is the next step in Alchemer's journey to democratize experience management and becomes the foundation for Alchemer's digital engagement strategy. Alchemer is excited that the Apptentive team shares our vision to make every customer and employee voice matter'.
