Snowplow Buys Poplin Data and Launches APAC Hub

London firm Snowplow Analytics, which helps businesses collect and manage their customer behaviour data, has acquired Sydney, Australia-based consulting firm Poplin Data for an undisclosed sum. The buy provides Snowplow with an APAC Hub in Sydney.

Founded in 2016, Poplin Data helps product and data leaders with their personalisation, algorithmic attribution and first-party measurement strategies. The firm was Snowplow's first global partner, is its exclusive integration and enablement partner in Australia and New Zealand, and has been the largest external developer of its ecosystem tools.

The takeover comes six months after Snowplow raised $40m in a Series B round of funding, which it is partly using to scale internationally. Alex Dean (pictured), CEO and co-founder, comments: 'By working with Snowplow's behavioral data platform, Poplin Data has expanded our vision of what data creation can be. Bringing them into the Snowplow team expands our research and development efforts and helps us be closer to our global customer base'.
