Kantar has acquired Copenhagen, Denmark-based shopper data specialist Kauza, for an undisclosed sum.
Kauza was co-founded in 2020 by long-time GfK execs Peter Glavind and Claus Lassen (pictured). Glavind's previous roles there included MD GfK Nordics, VP Data Innovation, Global, and VP Consumer Panels, Global; while Lassen was most recently Nordic Commercial Director. The pair set up the Kauza data collection platform, which focuses on purchase shopper data for the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) market across the region.
According to Kantar, the acquisition will strengthen its consulting, retail and shopper expertise in the Nordics region. Guillaume Bacuvier, Worldpanel Division CEO, comments: 'Kantar's unparalleled shopper data has become a currency in the industry. Strengthening our reach through the acquisition of Kauza is the natural progression in our mission to gather the richest shopper and consumer insights for our clients, powered by state-of-the-art technology'.
