GroupM's new data / audience planning agency EssenceMediacom has appointed Silas Ho as MD in Hong Kong and Anthony Lau as Managing Partner there, with a focus on formulating the agency's business development strategy.
EssenceMediacom was formed last year from the merger of data and measurement-driven media agency Essence and media network MediaCom. The firm combines Essence's performance, data, analytics and creative technology offer with MediaCom's audience planning and media expertise, with everything underpinned by EMOS; EssenceMediacom's Operating System, which comprises a suite of tools and data.
Ho joined MediaCom nearly a decade ago, latterly serving as its Head of Digital, having begun his career as a Planner at OMD Hong Kong. Lau was most recently MediaCom's Strategy Director, after joining the firm three years ago from OMD Hong Kong, where he held the same title, and having previously worked for Omnicom Media Group Asia.
Ho now reports to both EssenceMediacom APAC CEO, Rupert McPetrie, and GroupM Hong Kong CEO, Alice Chow, and Lau now reports to Ho.
