Predictive media monitoring company NewsWhip has raised $13m in a funding round, which will be used to further develop its technology.Dublin, Ireland-based NewsWhip offers a platform which combines real-time feeds of web and social media content with public engagement data, to identify and predict which stories and narratives will matter in the hours ahead. This platform helps clients to predict the news, and better understand which stories are engaging audiences on a global and local scale.
New funding comes from AshGrove Capital, and will partly be used to increase NewsWhip's headcount by 50% by next year. CEO Paul Quigley comments: 'The AshGrove Capital team recognizes the transformation underway in the communication profession, and the unique position NewsWhip has in enabling that transformation.
