Consumer and sensory research agency MMR Research Worldwide has announced the opening of a facility in Wokingham, Berkshire, designed to help FMCG firms improve their pack and product experience. The company operates globally with offices in the UK, the USA, China, Brazil, Singapore, India, Thailand, Colombia, South Africa and the Netherlands.
The new facility will feature six workspaces described as 'highly adaptable' and allowing for assessments of food, drink, fragrances, cars, sports equipment, detergents, consumer durables and devices among others. Clients can use a two-way mirror and can generate samples on-site - essential, the firm says, for manufacturers such as coffee producers or any client working on goods that need to be evaluated during product setup or use.
Head of Sensory - EMEA Thibault Delafontaine says of the launch: 'We are excited about the opening of our brand-new research facility as it signifies that we will be equipped to take on a broader range of innovation projects across the UK and Europe. Our ambition remains the same - to assist FMCGs in developing best-in-class products that deliver on the brand promise'. Phiala Mehring, UK & Asia Sensory Director at MMR, says one advantage of the new facility will be the ability for CLTs [central location tests] to take place as evening sessions, which was not previously feasible.
