Retailer John Lewis Partnership has appointed former Tesco exec Emily Wells as its first pan-Partnership Head of Loyalty. The company has also teamed up with Tesco-owned data science firm dunnhumby and loyalty specialist Eagle Eye to deepen its relationships with its 20 million customers.
Employee-owned John Lewis Partnership operates a network of department stores across the UK, with concessions also located in Ireland. Through the five-year agreements with dunnhumby and Eagle Eye, John Lewis says it will provide greater personalisation and loyalty experiences to its customers who shop with John Lewis, John Lewis Finance and Waitrose - across the group's stores, web sites and apps. The move builds on the recent relaunches of the My John Lewis and My Waitrose loyalty programmes, the latter of which has more than nine million members who have in the past year, been rewarded with £100m in personalised money-off rewards.
Wells (pictured), who will join in June, has spent the past five years at supermarket giant Tesco, where she most recently served as Head of Loyalty Strategy, and was earlier Clubcard Strategy Lead. Before this, she worked for designer uniform brand Studio 104 as Head of Commercial; and business transformation specialist KPMG Boxwood as Senior Consultant (Retail / Consumer Specialist).
In her new role, reporting to Customer Director, Charlotte Lock, Wells will be responsible for developing and launching a new pan-Partnership loyalty proposition in 2024, as well as leading and developing My Waitrose and My John Lewis loyalty programmes and teams. Lock comments: 'Today's announcements show the ambition we have to transform how our much-loved brands can deliver a more personalised experience for customers. With Emily's appointment and our new partnerships with dunnhumby and Eagle Eye, we can better help our customers however, whenever and wherever they shop with us.'
