TV audience rating body BARC India has appointed former Nielsen exec Dolly Jha as Chief of Product and Research.
BARC (Broadcast Audience Research Council) was launched in 2015. Jha (pictured) joins after thirteen years at Nielsen, latterly as MD for Nielsen Media, India. While at Nielsen she led large audience measurement programmes for multiple industry bodies, and launched a number of digital measurement solutions in India. Earlier in her career she worked for IMRB as Group Business Director, ITC Foods as Head of Consumer Insights, and IMRB as Consumer Research Manager.
Commenting on the appointment, CEO Nakul Chopra said: 'In her new role, Dolly will expectedly bring immense value to our eco-system, both from the perspective of working back from our output, to improve input quality and, over time in helping build value-added services that will benefit all our subscribers. During her time at Nielsen, Dolly had deep exposure and understanding of what BARC does, and I am confident that this will augur for an extremely fulfilling partnership'.
