In Dublin, AI-powered customer experience (CX) solutions company EdgeTier has raised EUR 6m in a Series A round of funding, which it will use to expand its team from 22 to 70 employees across its Irish and Spanish offices, within the next 24 months.Founded in 2015 by Shane Lynn, Bart Lehane, and Ciarán Tobin (pictured), EdgeTier's AI platform provides contact centres with access to real-time insights on customer conversational data, which can be used to understand customer attitudes, and detect issues in real-time. The platform uses natural language processing to monitor customer conversations across multiple channels, even in multilingual environments; and it integrates with contact centres' existing customer service software, including Zendesk, Kustomer, Intercom, Salesforce, LivePerson, and others.
New funding has been led by Smedvig Capital, with participation from Episode 1 and Act Venture Capital. Lynn comments: 'We want to help more contact centres and customer experience professionals recover the missed insights in their conversations, react faster to changes, and have the data they need at their fingertips to make decisions. Over the fundraise, we've been really impressed with the Smedvig team; Joe and Maeve are already bringing great value to the business and I'm really excited to partner with them now on the journey ahead.'
