Early-stage startup customer data platform Lantern has announced a $6.8m seed funding round, to continue building its B2B customer data platform which pulls in information from more than fifty tools and popular data warehouses. The tool promises users help in understanding customers, identifying potential upsell opportunities and tracking customers for potential re-targeting.
The funding was led by Primary Ventures and Moxxie Ventures with participation from a number of other funds and individual investors.
Founder David Bromberg said in a blog post that 'most revenue teams won't be able to leverage advances in AI', explaining, 'With 70% of customer data living outside of Salesforce, there isn't a system of record for B2B companies to uncover insights and execute advanced workflows... Leveraging a single record of the customer and AI insights, Lantern bundles together the essential tools needed to close, retain and expand customers'.
The San Francisco-based company has also launched a free tool called Champion Chaser, which tracks when previous customers switch jobs and show intent to repurchase products.
