In the US, boutique insights consultancy Old Salt has appointed long-time industry exec Matt Knoeck as Principal, to further support its operating structure and senior staffing model. The firm has also hired Davis Taske as an Analyst.
Launched in 2021 by former Incite directors Kevin Kruper and Rocky Prozeller, Boston and New York City-based Old Salt provides brand, product, communications and strategy research. Qualitative techniques include traditional discussion groups and in-depths; consumer immersions; ethnography; and communities, while the firm's quant approach includes segmentation; advanced analytics; messaging, concept, product and ad testing; and modelling / forecasting.
Knoeck (pictured) joins with more than 25 years' experience, most recently gained at financial services company Wells Fargo, where he served as SVP, Head of Customer Experience Insights. Before this he was EVP, Senior Client Officer at Ipsos, North America; and worked at Kantar as EVP, Global Customer Experience; Nielsen as VP, Customer Experience; and Harris Interactive as EVP Healthcare. He also held senior positions at TNS, GfK and Quester.
In his new role, Knoeck will lead areas from client relationship development and research execution to staff mentorship and corporate strategy.
Taske joins from Egg Strategy, where he was a Quantitative Strategist, before which he held senior research positions at the National Association of Independent Schools and Wakefield Research.
Commenting on the appointments, founding Partner Kevin Kruper said: 'In support of our growth ambitions, we are humbled to attract world-class research talent and senior experience like Matt and Davis. Their ethos, inspiration and dedication to our journey is already impacting the important work we do for our clients'.
