In the UK, WPP's consumer data specialist Wavemaker has promoted Sian Runnacles to the role of Chief Growth Officer, responsible for 'unlocking' growth for new and existing clients as well as growing the agency's specialist services including commerce, addressable, SEO and 'applied innovation'.
Wavemaker, which was set up in 2016 by WPP media agency MEC, uses consumer data and insights to focus on understanding where and how marketing can help brands win more sales. Runnacles (pictured) joined nearly six years ago as General Manager, and most recently served as Client Managing Director. Earlier she spent seven years at MEC, latterly as Client Partner, and she held account roles at Vizeum and Starcom MediaVest.
She now joins Wavemaker's restructured executive committee, which includes CEO Kelly Parker; COO Katie Lee; Chief Strategy and Planning Officer Elliott Millard; Chief Commercial Officer Shil Patel; and Chief Investment Officer Ian Stevens.
She will report to Parker and lead both the New Business and Marketing functions in the Growth team.
