Currys CIO Andy Gamble has invested an undisclosed amount in customer experience (CX) measurement platform Uncrowd, and joined the firm as an advisor, as the company readies for US expansion in the coming months.Created by retail and systems specialists Richard Hammond and Rocky Howard, Uncrowd enables global retailers and brands to measure customer experience through 'innovative methods' of data collection. The platform collects 'objective data' together with observations to generate a view of how a company is performing against its competition, and identifies why a customer chooses one company over another.
Gamble (pictured) is currently Chief Information Officer (CIO) of electrical goods retailer Currys and a Non-Executive Board Advisor at luxury brand Mulberry. Earlier, he was CIO at Dyson and Essentra, which supplies plastic, fibre, foam and packaging products; and he spent more than fifteen years at Sony, where he latterly served as CIO and SVP.
On Uncrowd's Advisory Board, Gamble joins former dunnhumby CEO Simon Hay, and ex-Oracle CX leader Martin Ward. Hammond comments: 'Andy is a huge catch, especially as his experience is so diverse; super skilled retail and consumer focussed CIO, but also with a Silicon Valley background and startup chops. It's wonderful to have Andy invest, even better to welcome him as an advisor.'
